SALVATION IS OF THE LORD

“As ye have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him.”  -Col. 2:6

As light was commanded to shine in the dark,

so God called my soul into light.

That enables me His glory to see

In the face of His Son, Jesus Christ.

Now as thru a glass I see

dimly His glory shine.

A pilgrim who groans in agony,

To be still so dull and so blind.

My heart at times lays fast bound

In the dungeon of Giant Despair,

Feeling hopeless with no one around

To give me release or to care.

I can no more change my thoughts

Or of my own will turn from sin,

Than a leopard can choose to change his spots

Or the Ethiopian his skin.

Salvation is of Thee, O Lord,

I pray, O quicken me!

Then according to Thy gracious Word

I rise and follow Thee.

“The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee: Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion.”  -Psa 20:1-2

Help from the sanctuary of the Almighty is the only help sufficient for us in the turmoil and trouble of a fallen world.  Men are looking to the great seats of government and learning for help in the present crisis, but the Christian must be looking to God Himself, our Sanctuary, and when God sends help we are strengthened indeed.
